All-metal construction and a heavy weighted base provide strength and stability; an adjustable design adds a personal touch. “We hope people see it as a quiet, functional sculpture,” says designer Hung-Ming Chen, whose studio Afteroom created this piece for Design Within Reach.

Be creative with your Story. The shelves can be rotated to the front or side to suit your space’s needs. The bookcase comes in multiple colors and two heights — mix and match them to build a library unlike any other. It’s also ideal for holding towels or displaying collectibles, with a 3-kilogram weight limit per shelf. Simple assembly required. Wall anchoring hardware and safety strap included.
